The National Historical Museum is dedicated to the Argentine history, and exhibits objects and artworks related to the Revolución de Mayo (May 1810 Revolution) and the Argentine War of Independence.
The Museum occupies the former mansion of the landowner José Gregorio Lezama, constructed in 1860 extending and modernizing the existing construction, for which he designed the gardens that became later Parque Lezama.
