Roll Call

In addition to arbitrary punishments and violence, the roll call was a significant instrument of torture. Several times a day, the women had to line up for roll call. They had to stand outside in all weathers, were not supposed to move or talk. They were controlled and counted and from there assigned to work squads. The SS also used roll calls for hours with food deprivation as collective punishment.
