BAB 2024 lleva como título Nurture Gaia en honor a una de las muchas personificaciones de la Madre Tierra, sus diversas expresiones históricas como símbolo de madre, nutridora y dadora de vida, que trasciende los tiempos y enlaza culturas. Más allá de sus manifestaciones míticas y místicas, Gaia también ha inspirado teorías y filosofías científicas.
BAB 2024 se centrará en las diferencias entre naturaleza y nutriente, las complejas ideas de la feminidad y los valores femeninos, incluyendo enfoques contemplativos con la ecopolítica, el animismo y lo sobrenatural.
BAB 2024 presenta un variado plantel de artistas de América, Asia y Europa, desde figuras consagradas a talentos emergentes. Entre los 15 primeros artistas participantes figuran: Agnes Arellano (Filipinas), Joseph Beuys (Alemania), George Bolster (Irlanda-EEUU), Louise Bourgeois (Francia- EEUU), Amanda Coogan (Irlanda), Dusadee Huntrakul (Tailandia), Yanawit Kunchaethong (Tailandia), Prasong Luemuang (Tailandia), Princess Marsi Paribatra (Tailandia), Abraham Poincheval (Francia), Taiki Sakpisit (Tailandia), Jessica Segall (EEUU), Pim Sudhikam (Tailandia), Som Supaparinya (Tailandia), and WISHULADA (Tailandia).
The biennale will transform Bangkok into a city of art, exhibiting artworks in public spaces including Bangkok Art and Culture Centre (BACC) ; the newly opened first phase of One Bangkok, a smart and sustainable new concept in urban planning; as well as juxtaposing contemporary art in important heritage sites and temples including Wat Phra Chetuphon Wimon Mangkhalaram Rajwaramahawihan (Temple of the Reclining Buddha or Wat Pho); Wat Arun Ratchawararam Ratchawaramahawihan (Temple of Dawn or Wat Arun); Wat Prayurawongsawat Worawihan (Temple of Iron Fences or Wat Prayoon); and Museum Siam (National Discovery Museum Institute or NDMI), a museum dedicated to the history and culture of the Thai people, situated in the heart of old Bangkok.
