SB12: Art Works, Artists, Venues

First part of the tour through the venues of the Sharjah Art Foundation in the historical Al Mureijah neighborhood - new art spaces and heritage houses, already rebuilt or in process of reconstruction.

Venues: Calligraphers’ Studios, Ceramics House, Centre for Arabic Calligraphy & Ornamentation, Dar Al Nadwa, Institute for Theatrical Arts, Souq Al Shanasiyah.

Works by 11 artists, presented on two floors of the museum, including some of the most important representatives of the modern and contemporary art in the Middle East.

A restored creek-side house in the Arts Area with artists' studios and gallery spaces surrounding a large courtyard.

Major installations by Asunción Molinos Gordo and Michael Joo at two abandoned warehouses in the port area of Sharjah along the Creek.

Various works and intervention at a former restaurant from the 1970s, because of its futuristic design commonly known as The Flying Saucer.

Site-specific installation by the Argentinean artist and his team at the abandoned ice factory in Khor Kalba, East Coast of the Emirate of Sharjah, at the Gulf of Oman.
