UV silk screen print, 118 cm x 175 cm
Exhibited 13 August – 17 December 2003
In the spirit of Joseph Beuys' concept of "social sculpture," René Francisco made the renovation of an old woman's house a public task through a grassroots survey in one of Havana's poorest neighborhoods. On the photo, a colleague of René Francisco appears as a kind of 'black Beuys', as a 'savior'. Funds from the sales of the Foto/Graphik Galerie Käthe Kollwitz also contributed to the house reconstruction.
