Call for applications for national and international galleries interested in participating in this year's art fair. Deadline extended: 20 April 2014
Feb 2014Ch.ACO, Chile's Contemporary Art Fair, organized since 2009 in the city of Santiago, has become a cultural milestone for the country, as well as a key event in the region on the agenda of the international contemporary art fairs.
Offering as each year a first-level infrastructure, personalized service, advisory in art market and shipping, among many other actions and benefits of promotion, Ch.ACO Fair has opened the applications for national and international galleries participating for the sixth version of this event.
As the last three years, the fair will be held in one of the patrimonial pillars of the city: the Estación Mapocho Cultural Centre, the old Railway Station of Santiago, with over 100 years of existence, which has been recognized with the Reina Sofía Award for the Conservation and Restoration of Cultural Heritage. The appointment will be between 1 and 5 October, five intense days in which national and international curators and collectors, invited from international institutions, journalists, families and students will learn about the work of several artists represented by galleries.
They will also have many activities as a series of talks that will address topics around the art market with experts and international benchmarks, an exhibition of more than a dozen of national and international publications dedicated to design, architecture and art, the Pop_ Up Spaces program which brings together Chilean art spaces that, despite being outside commercial circuits, have given life to outstanding proposals, concerts and performances, art awards, and a VIP program that offers a unique experience for the artistic face of Santiago.
There are three types of booths where people can apply (25, 40 and 60 meters. squares), each with different technical specifications and benefits. As a requirement, galleries wishing to participate must have a minimum of three years of a permanent exhibition space and at least four exhibitions a year. After applying, the organization shall assess the spaces to give its verdict and announce what galleries will be part of Ch.ACO Fair 2014.
