NO
Let's pause a moment and ask ourselves or ask those around us or even the nature itself if the word "NO" has a role in our life. What is the general meaning of this word and what are its dimensions – at present and in the future?
In the Arabic language dictionary, the word "NO" is used to express denial and refusal.
It is commonly used to express denial and refusal, which is natural, therefore, there is an agreement on the meaning of this word.
In fact, we've been hearing this word ever since we were very young without perceiving its dimensions. It has been used in all aspects of life, at home and school as well as in markets and neighbourhoods and even by friends in their political, social, economic and scientific discussions etc…
It is so often used in its negative meaning, such as don't eat, don't sleep, don't go out, don't, don't, don't,… and has become like a chain tied round our necks, a reality of everyday life or even an integral part of the life of peoples and governments. Sometimes, we hate the day we don't hear the word "NO". Here, we pause and ask if this word has a real impact on the present daily life or in the long run, and if this impact is positive or negative.
Can we imagine one day we will appear before the court of life using this word? What are the direct and indirect repercussions and effects, particularly when it is repeatedly used in positive or negative situations?
When we think of a relative balance between positive and negative meanings of this word, and realize its dangers and importance in a well-studied scientific and rational way, we will give it so much importance, even in its negative meaning, which recognized by peoples themselves or by them and their governments. This word will be negative for these governments but positive for the citizens, and could be vice versa (according to each side's logic).
There may be a situation where we smile and unconsciously utter the word "NO" to express surprise and astonishment, but sometimes we say "NO" in a positive or happy situation.
Therefore the meaning of this word depends on the cultural interpretation by different individuals, societies and peoples.
