May 2007Azerbaijan's debut at the Venice Biennial with a national pavilion surprises the audience with a remarkable exhibition.
Commissioner and curator Leyla Akhundzada together with curator Sabina Shikhlinskaya
have selected works by 12 artists, most of them belonging to the younger generation: Tora Aghabeyova, Faig Ahmed, Rashad Alakbarov, Orkhan Aslanov, Chingiz Babayev, Rena Effendi, Ali Hasanov, Orkhan Huseynov, Elshan Ibrahimov, Tamilla Ibrahimova, Rauf Khalilov, Labyrinth art group.
Under the Title "Omnia mea", a wide range of artistic approaches and techniques, including installation, video art, photography, performance, computer animation, and interactive works are presented in a cultural centre on Giudecca Island.
