Karlsaue park

Works at small houses and outdoor projects at the extensive park, that has been used as a venue for Documenta since 1959.


Neue Galerie

Erected 1871-1877 as Museum on Schönen Aussicht Street above the Karlsaue park.


Weinberg Bunker & Terraces

Terraces at the Weinberg (vineyard), and cellars in the rocks, converted into a huge bomb shelter.


Off the Main Sites

A variety of in-between spaces in Kassel's city center that are connected through a non-linear narration.


Hauptbahnhof

Kassel's main central train station until 1991. Already in 1997 and 2002 it was a venue of Documenta 10 and 11.


In our extensive photo tour you will find works by 90 participants at 13 venues.

The documenta in Kassel is considered as the world's most important art exhibition. Organized since 1955, it takes place every 5 years.

Universes in Universe has dedicated large Specials to all the editions of the documenta since 1997.
