Among the well worth seeing ensembles and buildings at the historical Heart of Sharjah, there is the Calligraphy Square surrounded by several art and cultural institutions, used as temporary venues of the Sharjah Biennial. Venues of SB12 directly at the square are: Calligraphers’ Studios, Ceramics House, Sharjah Centre for the Art of Arabic Calligraphy & Ornamentation, Dar Al Nadwa.
Close from there is the Sharjah Institute for Theatrical Arts where in 2015 several performances are presented.
This part of the tour leads to the newly built Souq Al Shanasiyah, crossing Bank Street close to the Corniche Street, connecting the Heritage Area and the Arts Area.
