Prayer
A 1958 oil and ink painting on cardboard depicts a kneeling man with a disproportionately long torso. In the background are line drawings of furniture, corpses, sunrays, machines, faces, and half-animal half-human figures. A faceless red-haired girl stands in front of the man. Her hair is parted in the middle and her arms are stretched above her head. A black cat stands beneath her feet. All three figures face the viewer. Colors are limited to deep blues, blacks, and reds. Composition is symmetrical and lines and brushstrokes are sparingly applied. The width of the painting is 37 cm. Its height is 45 cm.
