Colonial House
A 1940s oil painting on canvas depicts a large coral-colored rectangular house. The house is pictured from the front. It has four symmetrical windows with bright green shades and a large central door with a white awning above it. The house occupies most of the picture plane. It is punctuated by a vivid blue sky, and what appears to be a rural green landscape on the ground. Trees line its sides and one can make out an empty road in the far distance. The painting is devoid of human figures. Its style is impressionistic and its colors are limited to soft shades of pinks, blues, greens, and yellows. Its width is 41 cm. Its height is 33 cm.
