The monumental key sculpture is a collective work by the refugees of the Bethlehem area and the Aida Youth Centre at Aida Refugee Camp near Bethlehem. It was placed at the entrance of the Camp in 2008, as a sign of hope and "right of return."
It was brought to Berlin for the Biennale. Accompanying workshops and discussions were organized.
The project was co-curated by the residents of the Aida Refugee Camp and Khaled Hourani, Director of International Art Academy Palestine, and was coordinated by Toleen Touq.
