This international seminar, organised by the German Commission for UNESCO, aims to strengthen cultural participation with the help of international comparisons. Also, it offers a platform for civil society in the field of arts and culture to enhance its self-organisation and the connection with regional and international networks. Cooperative examples of implementing the 2005 UNESCO Convention on the Protection and Promotion of the Diversity of Cultural Expressions will be discussed.
The seminar will take place at the International Cultural Centre of Hammamet/Tunisia, 6 through 8 September 2012.
The German Commission for UNESCO calls for contributions and participations from Tunisia and other Maghreb and Mashrek countries.

For successful candidates, the German Commission for UNESCO covers the travel costs (arrival 5 Sept, departure 9 Sept, 2012) and the complete board and lodging during the stay in Hammamet (including visa fees, where applicable). Logistical and organisational support is assured by the International Cultural Centre of Hammamet.
