The Road to the Tate Modern. 2003
Video, transferred to DVD, 7:13 min
The video was shown at the beginning of the exhibition on a small monitor, solely as a programmatic reference. The two artists, as Don Quixote and Sancho Panza, stray through the barren mountains of Anatolia and ask everyone they encounter for directions to the Tate Modern in London, one of the most important institutions of the Western art world.
Curator René Block already showed the video in 2003 at the exhibition in Kassel In den Schluchten des Balkan (In the Canyons of the Balkans). It was also on view in the Martin Gropius Building in Berlin until mid-January 2010 as part of the collection of the museum Istanbul Modern.
