Manif d’art - Québec

Manif d’art

La biennale de Québec / The Quebec City Biennial

Manif d'art, the biennial Quebec City Biennale, is an event dedicated to the promotion and dissemination of contemporary visual arts evolving around a central theme, exclusive to each edition.

Spread out in various locations in the central districts of Quebec City, the event brings together several collaborators from the cultural and artistic sector around activities that take place every two years from February to April.

It showcases the works of artists from Quebec, Canada and abroad, grouped together in large-scale exhibitions that tend to present the quintessence of the greatest trends in contemporary art.

Manif d'art is aimed at all audiences (amateurs, specialists, etc.) through events such as symposiums and forums that address various questions about the concepts and issues of contemporary visual arts.

But not only that, there are also satellite activities offering shows, presentations and evenings of animation where several artistic disciplines meet. For a modest or free price (depending on the event), visitors have access to open houses, bilingual guided tours, youth activities and creative workshops to allow everyone to experience the effervescence of today's art.

Manif d'art is a non-profit organization also recognized as a charity. Its main mandate is to promote the art of research and experimentation by disseminating the cutting edge of the major Quebec, Canadian and international trends in the visual arts. By carrying out activities aimed at a variety of audiences, the organization offers unconventional creation and dissemination frameworks that are conducive to questioning new issues in contemporary art.

Manif d'art plays a unifying role among artists of different reputations. The organization offers them original contexts for creation and dissemination through the activities it organizes: MANIF D'ART - la biennale de Québec, the circulation of works abroad, the Visual Arts, Media Arts and Crafts component of the Première Ovation measure, and the Prix vidère en arts visuels. Through the diversity of its proposals, it aims to be a retention tool for artists in the Quebec City region, seeking to counter the exodus of its creators.
