Around 200 delegates are expected to attend ClMAM 2013 Annual Conference in Rio de Janeiro. Three keynote speakers and six case study presentations will be conforming the bases of a larger debate that will take place among the conference delegates. The active implication of members and delegates will be requested through extended Q&A, workshop sessions and visits to the foremost contemporary art institutions and spaces in the city to reflect upon the issues arising from the conference topics.
ClMAM 2013 Annual Conference is hosted at MAM Rio - Museu de Arte Moderna do Rio de Janeiro and organized in collaboration with Suzy Muniz Produçoes (www.mamrio.com.br).

Travel Grant Program
Thanks to the generous support of Fundación Cisneros / Colección Patricia Phelps de Cisneros, ClMAM offers five grants to support the attendance of modern and contemporary art curators and museum or collection directors from Latin America with priority to professionals residing in Central America and the Caribbean to ClMAM's 2013 Annual Conference, New Dynamics in Museums: Curator, Artwork, Public, Governance that will be held in Rio de Janeiro, 12-14 August 2013.

Grants are restricted to modern and contemporary art curators and museum or collection directors from Latin America with priority to professionals residing in Central America and the Caribbean. While curators of all career levels are encouraged to apply, we are especially interested in receiving applications from junior curators who have less than 10 years experience in the field. Applicants having received ClMAM grants from Fundación Cisneros / Colección Patricia Phelps de Cisneros will not be considered for a new grant before 3 years.
Purpose of the grant
Grants will exclusively relate to support the purpose for which the fund was established. The funds will be administrated by ClMAM set on a case-by-case basis up to €2.000 maximum per grantee. Funds will not be sent to the beneficiary directly and will not cover registration and expenses related with the post-conference tour.
The travel grant covers conference registration*, travel expenses (round trip economy flights only) and accommodation in one of the hotels recommended by ClMAM.
*Conference registration includes access to conference sessions and workshops, lunches and refreshment breaks, access to organized visits, coach service to and from planned visits to the conference meeting points and welcome kit.
Applications will be considered and evaluated by the ClMAM Travel Grant Committee consisting of the President of ClMAM and five Board Members together with the Fundación Cisneros / Colección Patricia Phelps de Cisneros. Grants will be conferred based on the Committee's assessment of the professional's genuine financial need, and the potential benefit to his/her development and/or research.

Keynote speakers include: Tania Bruguera, Artist and initiator of lmmigrant Movement lnternational (lM lnternational), Havana, Cuba / New York, United States; Stephen Wright, Art writer and professor of the practice of theory at European School of Visual Arts, Angoulème / Poitiers, France.
Case study presentations by: Zoe Butt, Executive Director and Curator at Sàn Art, Ho Chi Minh, Vietnam; Rodrigo Moura, Deputy Director of Art and Cultural Programs at lnstituto lnhotim, Belo Horizonte, Minas Gerais, Brazil; Samuel Sidibé, Director at the National Museum of Mali, Bamako, Mali; Joanna Mytkowska, Director at the Museum of Modern Art, Warsaw, Poland.
A Panel Discussion with lvana Bentes and Marcos Faustini; Lia Rodrigues and Heloisa Buarque de Holanda and moderated by Luiz Camillo Osório, Chief Curator at MAM Rio.
The conference program includes visits to Paço de lmperio, Casa França-Brasil, Estudio Ernesto Neto, A Gentil Carioca, Museu de Arte do Rio MAR Rio, Casa Daros, lnstituto Moreira Salles, Silvia Sintra Gallery + Box4 and Anita Schwartz Gallery.
ClMAM's Post-conference tour in Rio de Janeiro will include visits to three museums at Chácara do Céu and MAC Niterói.
ClMAM's Post-conference tour to Brasilia will include visits to Teatro Nacional Cláudio Santoro, Palácio do Congresso Nacional, Esplanada dos Ministérios, Palácio da Justiça, Palácio do Planalto, Praça dos Très Poderes, Catedral Metropolitana Nossa Senhora Aparecida, Palácio da Alvorada, Super Quadra residencial and the Ministério das Relaçôes Exteriores at Palácio ltamaraty (Palácio dos Arcos).
