On 30 July, Mona Hatoum will be awarded the Käthe Kollwitz Prize 2010 of the Academy of Arts Berlin. With this annual award recognizing the work of an individual in the area of Fine Arts, the Academy honours the multifaceted body of work created by the artist of Palestinian origin.
The evening of the ceremony at the Academy of Arts' headquarters on Pariser Platz is also the opening of an exhibition with works of Mona Hatoum produced during the last years, which will be on display until 5 September 2010. Additionally, the video Measures of Distance (1988) will be projected on 28 August 2010 for the Long Night of the Museums in Berlin.
