Born in 1988 in Barcelona, Tania Berta Judith is a Spanish artist living and working in Madrid.
Tania studied at Escola Massana, Arts and Design school in Barcelona, and is currently teaching at the European Institute of Design in Madrid. Her works tackle the feminine and all that it entails. Traditionally seen as a feminine exercise, sewing, weaving, embroidery and tapestry are elevated to a higher level of meaning, showing that by these artistic endeavours women leave their mark and pass on their ancestral knowledge, so often disregarded and confined to the private space. Just as her embroideries are delicate, they too leave a mark which reflects on past ancestral lineages and speaks to future generations by calling on the female contemplative efforts of the soul, heart and mind.
Her works have been exhibited in Barcelona, Spain, Oaxaca, Mexico, and will now be shown in the Maltese Islands.
