Born in 1987 in South Korea, Kyung-Jin Cho lives and works in Sweden. Kyung-Jin obtained her MFA from Konstfack University College of Arts, Crafts and Design, in Stockholm.
Her installation work Swing Jam speaks to the viewer by means of sound. It is also a visually appealing piece which allows those who see and hear it to almost enter into a meditative state mesmerized by movement and sound. Swing Jam translates the natural movement of pendulums into a sound experience. This could be poetically interpreted as ‘giving a voice to nature’. By experiencing these sounds Kyung-Jin wishes to evoke an emotional connection between nature and human beings.
