Nacida en Lucknow en 1958, Anita Dube completó su licenciatura (Historia) en la Universidad de Delhi en 1979 y su MVA (Crítica de Arte) en la Facultad de Bellas Artes de la Universidad Maharaja Sayajirao de Baroda en 1982. Como miembro de la Radical Painters and Sculptors Association, escribió el manifiesto de la exposición seminal "Preguntas y Diálogo" en 1987, y desde entonces ha estado produciendo obras de arte críticas y políticamente impulsadas a través de los medios de comunicación. Dube es cofundadora y miembro de la junta directiva de la Asociación Internacional de Artistas de KHOJ, y ha contribuido con textos a muchas publicaciones sobre arte contemporáneo.

Dube vive y trabaja en Greater Noida, India.
