Established in 2011 on the intuition of Alessandro Possati, its manager, with the technical assistance of Maurizio Bortolotti.
The idea consists of giving rise to a non-profit area dedicated to cultural research and dialogue. This is achieved through the production of artistic projects which allow the creation of ongoing exchanges with local institutions, and a sharing of objectives with several of the most important international cultural institutions. The Zuecca Project Space is located in the left wing of the complex "Le Zitelle" (built 1581-1586).
In former times, "Le Zitelle" used to give shelter to young maidens ("zitelle" in Italian) who had no dowry. The main building is the former church Santa Maria della Presentazione, attributed to the famous architect Andrea Palladio (1508 - 1580), but there are doubts about this. According to the Centro Internazionale di Studi di Architettura Andrea Palladio, there are no documents and drawings confirming Palladio's authorship of the project.
Today, the major part of the architectural complex is occupied by the Bauer Palladio Hotel & Spa.
