East perimeter wall
The area of the upper temenos is secured on the south and east side by high walls on the slope of the Katute hill against falling boulders and stones. This eastern enclosure wall is 14 meters high. In it, there are several vaulted rooms, a staircase cut into the rock to the top, and to the right in front of it, there is the opening of the largest cistern found in Petra with a capacity of about 328,000 liters.
