Born in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Artistic and pedagogical studies at the National Academy of Fine Arts in Buenos Aires. Further studies in fine arts and art education at the University of British Columbia and the University of Victoria, Canada. Lives in Berlin since 1996.

Parallel to her own artistic work, she explores issues and develops strategies of mediation of art and culture in the context of cultural exchange, history and remembrance.

She won a competition for a Memorial Sign at the site of Käthe Kollwitz's home in Berlin/Prenzlauer Berg. As a tribute to Käthe Kollwitz, she presented artworks by fellow artists from several countries in a light box in public space from 1997 to 2006, producing the artworks especially for this exhibition format. Following a similar concept, she realized the "Denkzeichen 4. November 1989" on Alexanderplatz, Berlin, from 1999 to 2003, together with Gerhard Haupt, on behalf of the Municipal Office of Berlin-Mitte.

In the last years, she has focused on editorial activities and content production in the framework of the web projects which she realizes together with Gerhard Haupt, especially in the internationally known art portal Universes in Universe - Worlds of Art.

For the initial publication of the online art project "Voices from Ravensbrück" on poems and drawings by women imprisoned in the Ravenbrück concentration camp, she was supported by the Förderprogramm Frauenforschung Berlin for her artistic research in 1999. A grant from the Langlois Foundation for Art & Technology from Canada enabled her to develop and program the first website in 2000. In 2002, "Voices from Ravensbrück" was awarded the Marianne von Willemer Prize by the city of Linz (Austria).

For the realization of the new extended version of "Voices from Ravensbrück" in 2020-21, Pat Binder received grants from the Brandenburg State Agency for Civic Education and the Regional Office for Education, Integration and Democracy (RAA) Mecklenburg-Vorpommern.
