Launched in 2018, the Thailand Biennale is the country's leading international event of contemporary art.
Produced by the Office of Contemporary Art and Culture, Ministry of Culture (OCAC) as a national initiative, each edition is hosted by a different city and region in Thailand. In addition to exhibitions at museums and art spaces, the Thailand Biennale proposes the use of natural and urban outdoor locations, as well as the production of site-specific art projects at unusual venues in collaboration with local communities.
The first edition was held in Krabi, on the west coast of southern Thailand, November 2018 - February 2019, curated by Jiang Jiehong and the participation of 50 artists.
