Teh Tarik (Courting After School 1950’s Style). 2008
Wall installation
"Teh Tarik" is a Malay term for hot white tea frothed up and cooled by pouring it from one cup in one hand to the other. In the artwork, the Chinese texts from the cups above are "poured" (neon lights) into the cups below (English). The texts are from a novel by Singaporean writer Yeng Pway Ngon.
