Old Al Jubail Vegetable Market

Dating to the early 1980s and designed by the British engineering firm Halcrow Group, Old Al Jubail Vegetable Market is an architectural gem with its curved arcades, terrazzo tiling, arched windows and vintage signage. Until 2015, when its contemporary successor opened across the street, the colonnade occupied a prominent position in the Al Jubail souq district—a waterfront commercial and infrastructural complex. Presently maintained by the Foundation, the building served as one of the main venues for the first Sharjah Architecture Triennial in 2019.
