The future will be brighter tomorrow
Laura Kikauka in collaboration with Constance Hanna
UV silk screen print, 118 cm x 175 cm
Exhibited 26 February – 12 May 2003
Laura Kikauka piles up discarded (once highly fashionable and cherished) consumer goods, rearranges them, and invites the audience to share the humor and tragedy of "failed ambitions." The resulting colorful, dazzling profusion transforms the promise of consumerism's happiness into an apocalyptic coziness that crushes any reality.
