Dancer
A 1954 oil painting on canvas depicts a female figure in the center of a round stage. The figure is surrounded by a large crowd, the features of which are abstract. Her arms are raised above her head, and white brushstrokes imply movement in the lower part of her body. The shape of her body appears exaggerated, with large hips and a small waist. She is pictured in deep reds, yellows, greens, and blues. The background is divided into square blocks of solid dark colors applied in thick layers of paint. The painting's width is 52 cm. Its height is 50 cm.
