Built in the 1920s, the main three storey building of the complex served until 1938 as the official residence of the British Commander of the Arab Legion, Colonel F. G. Peake. Afterward it became a club for the British Officers until the Arabization of the Arab Legion in 1956 and the departure of Glubb Pasha. The house has been renovated in its original form in 1992 by architect Ammar Khammash.
In the foreground, archaeological remains of a 6th century Byzantine church built over a Roman Temple, and a cave in the rock.
