In 2000, Ashkal Alwan invited a group of artists to create writings, video, photography and installations on Hamra Street and explore its image as one of Beirut's busiest and renowned thoroughfares. Works were screened and exhibited at the Hamra, Strand and Colisée cinemas as well as on Sadat Street.
