Dragon Museum of Contemporary Art. 2000
The climbing kiln created by Cai Guo-Qiang, the director and curator, relocated from China’s Fujin province and reassembled here, becomes a ground-breaking space that makes one rethink the very idea of a contemporary art gallery. In the past, this gallery has housed exhibits by Kiki Smith, Koutarou Miyanaga.
In 2009, the gallery displays works by Jennifer Wen Ma. Giving the impression of entering a different dimension, mirrors are placed at along the long and narrow passage. As the visitors are led up the stairs, they are confronted by themselves, reflected in the mirrors.
