Victoria Square Project is a social sculpture by Rick Lowe (who co-founded the project Row Houses in Houston, an organization focused neighborhood revitalization, historic preservation, community service, and youth education since in 1993).
Victoria Square Project is run together with Maria Papadimitrou, and Elli Christaki and Andreas Vembos as project team.
Working with various community iniatives, local businesses, institutions, the municipality, artists and other individuals and groups, Victoria Square Project seeks to elevate the cultural and historical assets of this vital crossroads in Athens. Each participant helps the initiators (and the visiting audience) to better understand the historical, and political dynamics in this area.
Started already in 2016, the project is scheduled to run until 2018.
For more information and the current program, see the Facebook page of Victoria Square Project.
