What Dust Will Rise? 2012
Installation, including stone books, books damaged by fire during the bombing of Fridericianum in 1941, and other objects, drawings, etc.
With the help of stone carvers from Afghanistan and Italy, Rakowitz re-created a number of the lost volumes of the Fridericianum, using stones from Bamiyan.
As part of the Kabul/Bamiyan Seminars, Michael Rakowitz organized together with Bert Praxenthaler workshops focused on re-enacting the old tradition of stone carving. 1 - 7 May 2012, archaeological area and UNESCO/MoIC Training Centre in Bamiyan.
