Jacopo Crivelli Visconti

Curator of the 12th International Cuenca Biennial, 2014

Jacopo Crivelli Visconti (*1973 Naples, Italy) is a critic and curator, based in São Paulo, Brazil.

As curator of the Fundação Bienal de São Paulo, he was responsible for the Brazilian Pavilion in the 52nd Biennale di Venezia (Italy, 2007), among other exhibitions. Recent projects as an independent curator of contemporary art include: Leda Catunda – pinturas recentes, Museo Oscar Niemeyer, Curitiba / Museo de Arte Moderno de Rio de Janeiro, Brazil (2013); Pinta Art Fair (Solo Projects section), New York, USA (2011 and 2012); Sismógrafo, Palácio das Artes, Belo Horizonte, Brazil (2011); Ponto de equilíbrio, Instituto Tomie Ohtake, São Paulo, Brazil (2010); Feijão com arroz, Museo Municipal, Guayaquil, Ecuador, and Trendy, Miami, USA (2010); Sandra Cinto: Imitação da água, Instituto Tomie Ohtake, Sao Paulo, Brazil (2010); Arco Solo Projects, Madrid, Spain (2009 and 2010); Paisagem Incompleta, Instituto Cultural Usiminas, Ipatinga, and Palacio das Artes, Belo Horizonte, Brazil (2009-2010); Athos Bulcão – Compositor de Espaços, Museo da República, Brasília, Brazil (2009); Luz ao Sul, Convento del Carmen, Valencia, Spain (2007).

His texts and essays appeared in several contemporary art, architecture and design magazines, such as Ars, ArteIn, Interni and Casabella (Italy), Art Monthly (UK), Bien’Art (Brazil), ArteContexto, Dardo, Bajo Rendimiento and Atlântica (Spain), Arte al día (Argentina / USA), Art Nexus (Colombia/USA) in addition to exhibition catalogues and artists’ monographs.
