This room was known as "Large Gold Room" in the 16th century due to the tapestries with gold yarns featuring Bible scenes that covered the walls at that time.
From the Giovanni Grimani collection: bust of Athena (left), the statue of Camillus and the head of Mercury, and the sleeping Eros on the large 16th cent. wooden table, with a series of precious bronzes.
The plaster statue depicting the Gruppo del Laocoonte is a very rare 18th century cast of the well-known sculpture of the 1st century BC.
