First Hall of the Gallerie dell’Accademia at the Sala del Capitolo (Chapter Hall) of the Scuola Grande della Carità. From 1344, this wealthy secular confraternity (founded in 1268 as the first of the six scuole in Venice to receive the title of "Scuola Grande"), had its headquarters on the property next to the Chiesa di Santa Maria della Carità.
The original ceiling with eight-winged angels, each with a different face, is a work by Marco Cozzi, created between 1461 and 1484. The tondi with the Heavenly Father and Prophets were were added later.
