Spiazzi is an independent artistic and social center, whose principal characteristic is the fusion of a gallery, laboratories for artists, and projects of "art of green". Over the years, it has organized different events, and hosted projects and pavilions at the International Art Exhibition of the Venice Biennale. With a program of Artists in Residence, Spiazzi opened its spaces for foreign artists.
Spiazzi runs three venues:
- The exhibition and production space at the historical center of Castello, only five minutes walking distance from the Arsenale.
- Fortespiazzi, launched in 2009, is a 300 square meters laboratories and multifunctional hall at the Island of Forte Marghera, which is located within the area of the city of Mestre.
- Spiazziverdi, an experimental garden for growing vegetables, and more, on Giudecca island.
