Before accessing the Eastern part of Sharjah's Heritage Area, the walk starts at Hisn Street, also known as Bank Street. Archeological excavations have revealed the original structure of the old buildings, which will be reconstructed as part of the Heart of Sharjah development project.

Along a walking itinerary of about 1 km (not including the visits inside of the buildings), you can see:

- Sharjah Hisn Museum
The Fort was built in 1820 as the residence of the Al Qasimi Ruling family. The museum is dedicated to the history of the Emirate and the Al Qasimi.

- Sharjah Wall
Reconstructed protection wall of the old city with towers and gates.

- Sharjah Directorate of Heritage
Offices of the institution in charge of the preservation of historical buildings and conservation of heritage all over the Emirate.

- Sharjah Theatrical Association
Housed in a restored traditional house with windtower and courtyard.

- Heritage Museum
Dedicated to the preservation and presentation of Sharjah's cultural traditions. Housed in the historic Bait Saeed Al Taweel.

- Calligraphy Museum
Displays traditional and contemporary calligraphy by local and international artists. Organizes temporary exhibitions, special events, and workshops.

- Calligraphy Square
Traditional square surrounded by cultural establishments such as the Calligraphy Museum and Studios, Ceramics House, Dar Al Nadwa.

- Heritage Square
Around the traditional square are the buildings of: Heart of Sharjah Discovery Centre, Bait Al Naboodah, Souk Al Arsa.

- Heart of Sharjah Discovery Centre
Provides comprehensive information on the multi-phased preservation and restoration development of the Heart of Sharjah long term project.

- Bait Al Naboodah
Former residence of the pearl trading Al Shamsi family, built in 1845. A marvelous example of traditional Gulf architecture.

- Souk Al Arsah
One of the oldest market places in the UAE

- Al Eslah School Museum
Established in 1935 as the first formal educational institute in the emirate of Sharjah. Restored rooms and documentation.

- Majlis Al Midfa
The famous round windtower is the only one of its kind in the UAE. Bait Ibrahim Al Midfaa and its majlis (meeting room) as well as the whole area around are in process of restoration as part of the preservation and development project Heart of Sharjah. It is very interesting to observe the reconstruction work in progress, in particular the restauration of the old coral walls.

- Majlis Al Shaabi
One of the most traditional meeting places for men which subsists from older times.
