Calligraphy Square

Among the well worth seeing ensembles and buildings at the historical Heart of Sharjah, there is the Calligraphy Square. The large courtyard is surrounded by several art and cultural institutions, including the Calligraphy Museum and Calligrapher Studios, Ceramics House, Dar Al Nadwa, Sharjah Centre for the Art of Arabic Calligraphy and Ornamentation, Emirates Society for Arabic Calligraphy and Islamic Ornamentation.

The public space of the square itself, and the institutions located in heritage houses are often used by the Sharjah Biennial and the Sharjah Art Foundation as temporary venues for art exhibitions, projects and events.
