One of the most beautiful tours in Petra leads to the high sanctuary on the Jabal al-Madhbah, passing the so-called obelisks, and down into Wadi Farasa East.

After about 500 metres of ascent, the path turns west and leads through a quarry with smooth vertical rock faces. Inscriptions and carvings can be seen on the northern (right) wall.
Several angles further up were probably carved into the rock by the quarry workers as markers. They are also found elsewhere in Petra
Above the passage through the quarry, there are two pointed pillars on the south side, of more than 6 m height, called obelisks. On the north side one reaches the High Place of Sacrifice through the so-called citadel.
