Petra Tour: Bab as-Siq
In the necropolis along the path from the Visitor Centre to the deep gorge of the Siq, one can see remarkably unusual burial sites, including some of Petra's oldest.

The three block tombs (probably 2nd century B.C., possibly 3rd century B.C.) were completely carved out of the rocks on the northern side of Wadi Musa. On top of the left block (BD 9) and on the rocky outcrop behind the central one (BD 8) there are pits excavated into the rock. More about this and detailed views on the following pages.
