The mosaics in front of the altar at the eastern end of the nave depict a fruit-bearing tree with two sheep symmetrically facing it.
Below the steps there is a dedicatory inscription in Greek that states the date of the church (equivalent to 557 A.D.), at the time of Bishop John, built and finished by its Priest and Sacristan Barichas. It also includes the name of the donors.
Fire damage has darkened a small area in the center.
