The Royal Society for the Conservation of Nature is an independent national organization established in 1966 with the mission of protecting and managing the natural resources of Jordan. Using a people-centered approach to protecting nature, RSCN has developed business ventures using the natural assets of protected areas to create sustainable economic and social benefits for local communities.
At RSCN's Wild Jordan Center, opened in 2003, visitors can find out about Jordan’s nature reserves and eco-lodges, and book stays, hikes, and activities.
The center also houses meeting and lecture halls, a gift shop of crafts and delicacies made by local cooperatives, offices and exhibition spaces, as well as a restaurant and café.
Designed by architect Ammar Khammash, the building offers fantastic panoramic views of downtown Amman and the Citadel.
