Nabataean (1st - 2nd century AD)
Petra
Elaborate limestone architectural frame in the classical Nabataean style, coated with a delicate whitewash and originally painted with red trim.
This frame was found in the debris within the sixth century "Petra Church", where it was reused as building material. It would have originally decorated a window of an upper-class residence in Raqmu-Petra, or maybe a niche in an earlier temple.
