Rafael Lozano-Hemmer: Signos e índices
The exhibition is comprised by four installations that emphasize both the violent and seductive nature of the biometric detection technologies. The cameras and sensors register and measure the presence of the visitors -- their pulse, their facial features, their fingerprints -- and convert those registers in the very content of the work. The aim is to create self-representation platforms and while the biometric portrait of every participant joins others, panoramic visual landscapes and auditory displays through data sonification are created.
