The highlight of the Museo de Arqueología de Alta Montaña are the mummies of three children, sacrificed in the Inca period on the Llullaillaco volcano (6739 m), with over 100 burial offerings.

The headdress of white feathers was worn by the 15-year-old Maiden and found next to her dead bundle. Since the female figurine next to it wears one, she was probably the embodiment of an acllakuna ("chosen women"), to which the Maiden obviously belonged.
