The highlight of the Museo de Arqueología de Alta Montaña are the mummies of three children, sacrificed in the Inca period on the Llullaillaco volcano (6739 m), with over 100 burial offerings.

The dead were buried together with gender-specific offerings (see the introduction).
This display case shows some objects from the tomb of the Niña del Rayo (Lightning Girl), including:
Manka chulla chaki (ceramic pot with pedestal, far left); raki (aryballos, vessel in the shape of an amphora with cord); a pair of ceramic plates with geometric pattern; llama figurines; handle pot; chuspa (cloth bag); ushutas (sandals).
