During the refurbishment of the third floor of the former Hotel of Immigrants, the original spatial distribution was recuperated: a long corridor, crossed by a wide transept with a marble table and two rows of marble benches on the sides, as well as two rows of wood and concrete benches covered with tiles, and two large sinks close to the lateral walls, on the west and east sides respectively.
The corridor and transept define the four large halls which used to host about 250 people each, which means that every floor had a capacity to host 1000 immigrants. The two halls facing the city where assigned to the Museum of immigration, whereas the two facing the river are the venues of MUNTREF's Contemporary Art Center.
