BIENALSUR
International Contemporary Art Biennial of South America
Organized by the Universidad Nacional de Tres de Febrero (UNTREF), the first edition of BIENALSUR will take place in Buenos Aires from 14 September - December 2017, simultaneously connecting over 30 cities in 15 countries, and gathering over 250 artists and curators from the five continents, selected through two international open calls. General Director: Aníbal Jozami; Artistic and Academic Director: Diana Wechsler.

Bienal Arte Joven Buenos Aires
The Bienal Arte Joven Buenos Aires is a platform for education, art production, and exhibition of works by young artists between 18 and 30 years of age, based on open calls in the disciplines: visual arts, audiovisual art, performing arts, literature and music. Organized by the Subsecretary of cultural politics and new audiences of the city of Buenos Aires.
Edition 2017: 25 September - 1st October

 

Bienal Internacional de Arquitectura de Buenos Aires
Realized since 1985, transforming Buenos Aires into a space of cultural dialogues, conferences of renown architects at global level, and exhibitions that position the architecture and urbanism in the focal point of the debates.
XVI Edition: 9 - 20 October 2017, Usina del Arte, La Boca.

 

Bienal de Performance
Launched in 2015 in Buenos Aires, San Juan and Mar del Plata, its main purpose is to celebrate this fascinating yet difficult to label form of art, and provide it with more visibility. As a reflection of the plurality and transversality of this artistic form of expression, the Performance Biennale works together and engages in dialogue with different institutions -both public and private- such as museums, cultural centers, universities, and art centers in the cities where it is held.

 

Kosice Biennial
Inspired by the work and ideas of the artist Gyula Kosice, the biennial takes place since 2010. Its goal is to stimulate the development of art and technology projects. The artists are invited from an open call. The biennial awards prizes to artists selected by a specialized jury. Organizer: 'Objeto a'

 

BIM - Bienal de la Imagen en Movimiento
The Biennial of the Moving Image is an initiative of Universidad Nacional de Tres de Febrero (UNTREF), to encourage the development and dissemination of audiovisual arts. International program of film and video, conferences and workshops. The biennial awards the Prize Norberto Griffa to Latin American Audio Visual Creation.

 

arteBA
Contemporary art fair, established in 1991. Takes place annually in May on the exhibition ground of La Rural. Recognized galleries from Argentina, South and North America, as well as Europe participate, selected by an international committee. Includes special curatorial projects, young galleries' section, Prize arteBA-Petrobras, Open Forum. Additionally in November takes place arteBA Focus / Distrito de las Artes, a platform for contemporary Argentinean art.

 

BAphoto
Art fair specialized and photography. From the moment of its founding in the year 2005, Baphoto works to promote the development of photography within the artistic field, and enhance its value on an international level. Since 2016 BAphoto takes place in the historic Pavilion of the horse stables in the fair ground of Buenos Aires, called La Rural.

Encuentros Abiertos - Festival de la Luz
International biennial event for the promotion of photography in Argentina. Organizer: Fundación Luz Austral. General direction: Elda Harrington. Exhibitions, conferences, workshops and actions in museums and art spaces in Buenos Aires and other cities.

 

Gallery Nights and Days
Free cultural tour initiated in 2001. Takes place on a monthly basis from April to December in Buenos Aires.

 

La Noche de los Museos - The Night of the Museums
Originated in 2004 in the frame of the Dialogues Berlín-Buenos Aires, the event is organized annually in the month of November. About 180 museums and art spaces open to the public at night, from 8 pm - 3 am, offering activities both in their facilities and on the streets. In 2016 it brought together more than one million people.
